Our Last Kickball Game and Festivities...

...led to some of the more stupid decisions I've ever made (all ended well, though).

I will admit, grudgingly, that it is quite comfy pretending to be someone's girlfriend for the evening-- that wasn't the stupid part of the night.

Oh, and we lost 4-17. Better than our loss last week which was 2-17 and the other team was so drunk they could barely stand up, but managed to kick several grand slams nontheless.

I love kickball. I love lemon drops. I need to keep the 2 in firmly separate rooms.

Call for the sordid details if you want to be amused and alarmed. More amused, I think, than alarmed, actually, but whatever. I need to go find some dinner.

Testing from a Store Mac

Trying out the ibook G4 to see if it can update my blogger! I'll wait for the intel chips before buying, but I'm thinking it's time to take the plunge into Mac world. The ipod, afterall, was a huge success! Peace all.

The Cherry Blossoms

Umbrella Series

Just an interesting umbrella picture. Thought I'd share.
His wife had a blue plaid one. I'm not sure why there wasn't a negotiation.
It's not raining. She's a tour guide. She reminds me of John in a pirate shirt (sorry John). And it didn't come clear on the picture, but she's got one knee sock pushed down and one all the way up to her knee. We kept running into her!

Batters Up

The Oreoles verses the Red Socks in Camden Yards Stadium. If you look at the big picture, you can see the tower in the distance. Same tower that's near my place. I am RIGHT downtown. A friend had season tickets AND a wedding to go to (her brother's), so I got the tickets and she went to the wedding!

Bike Pictures

How about some really cool bikes?

Adrienne, this is it.

This was on my wall by my head Sunday night. It was subsequently squished. Turns out, it's a centiped. Scary, hey? And Adrienne, I was right to go after it. Apparently they are dang fast when they get running. Mine didn't have a chance-- well-practiced reflexes due to living in roach-infested Charleston, SC. Doesn't it sort of look like an eyebrow? Gross.

Coming soon...

Cherry Blossom Pictures from Washington D.C. Stay tuned. Can you believe Washington D.C. set off fireworks for my birthday? And the trees were even in league with peak bloom occuring just prior to April first so that all the trees were turning wonderful shades of pink when I got there. I'm so special. ha.

By the way, I scored my first kickball point last Wednesday and tagged two people out last night. Wonder if I can go professional? Do they have professional kickball? They should. Maybe even Olympic level kickball with men's and women's leagues... I'm sure just about every culture has some form of kickball. I mean, only one or two places have ever heard of hurling before IT became an Olympic sport, and kickball's got to have more appeal than that!

Today sucked in general. Suck is such a nasty visceral word, but it really describes the sort of stuff I dealt with today. I had 3 patients this morning that I can't help at all for various reasons. One cried when I told him I had done all I could do and it was time to look at different techniques offered elsewhere. Then I was late to an outing with a patient and the patient did pretty gosh darn bad in public (just became overwhelmed-- we had not prepared enough). THEN I missed my own suprise belated birthday party by spending too long on the outing. Well, if you're going to suprise someone, they ought to be informed! We ate the cake later this afternoon and it was delicious. It just falls into the sucky day and sweetens it a bit. And I have a sore throat-- probably the darn blossoms. Wouldn't that be Ironic? Anywhoo, the pictures are pretty and I'll try to post them sometime this weekend. Stay tuned.
