Dangers of Contracting inlcude:

1. Jobs that don't come through in the end.
2. No health insurance unless you are signed onto a contract.
3. No control over your own job searches.
4. Absolute need to be cool and flexible in the face of no contract situation.

Yep, Rhode Island fell through-- the person who "accepts" contracts is out of the office until next week and I need a job signed before that time. My Rep (the new one) is supposed to find me one, but if she can't I may have to run back to Sunbelt. The new rep is not returning my calls-- I'm hoping she's just looking so hard for a job for me that she doesn't have time to return my call. We shall see.

In the mean time, I am being cool. I am enjoying the visit home that coinsides with my sister-in-law's visit (plus the nephews). Monday I arrived at midnight. Tuesday we did errands and played around town. Wednesday we went to Edventure museum for the day. Thursday we went to a nearby park and played in the water and on the playground.

Next week I'll be doing a tour of duty. First to Greenville, then Atlanta, then Nashville, and hopefully I'll have a placement by then and I'll head to the new job!

Packing

Note to self: the longer I stay at a contract, the longer it takes to pack. I hate packing. Next time, shorter contract. Will I actually arrive in SC tomorrow night? Is it possible with the state of my unpacked items? We shall see...stay tuned.

And for the curious...I left my company due to their constant empty offers of adventurous places (ie alaska, haiwaii). New company has places in California- but it take 4 months to get that license. So hopefully I'm off to Rhode Island next, then I'm heading west for the fall.

If you are bored today, and would like to cheerlead me through packing, call.

Pictures From a Recent Adventure

My best picture. One of these things is not like the other- can you pick it out???

He's a LA-DEEEE- lalala! He was working the cameras good too.

The Geek squad is here, never fear!

Now where have I seen this guy before-- hey, isn't he French?

We are gay pirates..on stilts..with kitty-cat faces...someone please explain this to me!

Hmmm, I THOUGHT this was the most revealing I was going to see...

And no one seems to notice.

Busy-ness

Review of last weeks.

June 1-4 went home for a visit. Firmly told last remaining grandparent that we have met quota this year for funerals. She has sworn to do her best to remain healthy.

June 4th- received news that very good friend Smitty is now engaged to Smittygirl-- congrats Smitty!

June 9-10th had a great weekend. Included working at hospital 8 hours, going to a Phillipiano birthday party complete with yummy homecooked food and karaoke, driving to DC and going clubbing, going to church, taking a water taxi to fell's point and eating in little Italy. Yeah, that was Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night was 3 hours long according to the amount of sleep I received.

June 13th- unbeknownst to me, good friend Bradford and wife Heather became parents to baby girl. Congrats Bradford and company!

June 14th- watched very good best friend on Jeopardy. She did brilliant. Points don't matter-- like that show Who's Line Is It Anyway.

June 16th- went to gym class, went to Lexington Market, attended dance class with Paul, went on date with Paul (bowling), and attended a gay pride parade with friends (pictures coming). Drank a lot of Strawberry Daquari. Don't get excited about Paul, I'm not-- but he doesn't have a girlfriend in a coma and he's a all-around nice guy to be dating for one more week.

June 17th- Happy Father's Day to all fathers including my own. Woke up stiff from combination of gym, dance class and bowling from day before. Okay, the alcohol may have added to slow muscle recovery as well. Have date with friends to go eat crabs tonight. Otherwise, should be packing but I'm blogging instead.

There now, June is now up-to-date. Congrats to all newly engaged, Jeopardy players, and new parents. It's been a busy month. Next post- pictures from the Baltimore Gay Pride Parade. And FYI- if anyone is short any condoms, let me know-- they threw them out instead of candy and you know how I like to catch stuff thrown at parades.
